The arrests follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later released.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
